Good Hands Training Center specializes in training driving equines and their owners. My staff and I train all breeds, and everything from mini donkeys to draft teams. My students graduate to do all types of driving - casual recreational driving, pleasure driving shows, combined driving competitions, arena driving, trail rides and endurance drives. I am just as proud of the students that confidently take their families out for Sunday afternoon country-road drives as the ones that compete at national and international levels.

My teaching emphasis is on SAFE DRIVING. I believe that a properly trained equine and a well trained and educated whip (driver) can enjoy many years of safe, incident-free driving. When my students bond with their equine, and feel comfortable and safe while driving – no matter the environment – I have done my work well.

If you have a horse with a specific problem, don’t give up, there is an answer.  Sometimes that answer is so simple we fail to see it. Bring your horse for an evaluation and we will either fix him or tell you what we need to do to fix him. Most of the time it is an easy solution that has been overlooked. Experience is the answer to these types of horses, and we have cured all that have come our way.

I believe that the initial training a young horse receives is crucial to the horse’s future. A properly trained weanling or yearling will learn each new skill with an open, willing attitude and will thrive on human interaction rather than resist it. My staff and I will give your baby a proper beginning, and will also teach the owner how to instill trust and willingness in his or her young horse.
